Fight Night Jan 8 @ Fenway

When the NHL's 2009 winter classic was to be healed at Fenway Park immediately people started to think that there should be a college side of things. So this year there might be. The final announcement is set to take place Thursday August 20th. There were thoughts of making an all Hockey East tourny with Vermont, Providence, BU and, BC. That was shot down but now it is expected that there will be a doubleheader. The first game will be the woman's turn Northeastern vs UNH @ 5:oo. Then later that night the main event Boston University and Boston College's mens teams will face off at 8:00 at Fenway Park.

It is almost a lock on the fact that there will be close to or freezing temperatures weekend the excitement felt by every one.
"I’m really excited about that. It’s a dream come true,” said BC coach Jerry York while scouting at a summer league event at Walter Brown Arena yesterday. “We just need a cold clear night, don’t we? That would be pretty good. And having the women’s teams, wow!“It’s going to be a late start; how cold might that be?,” York asked quizzically. “I think it’ll be a lot of fun. I think ticket prices will be pretty good. I envision 25,000 people, maybe. What a thing for Hockey East.”

Bu and Bc play each other three this year, twice at Bc and the first meeting of the year at bBU on December 5th. The game at Fenway will count as a home game for Bc.

An other one

Three day after landing Polesello for 2012 the Terriers got a oral commitment from Cason Homan for 2011. Homan is a 5-8 164 right hand shot from the Dallas area. Homan next season will try to make the US under 17 team.

Compuware Coach Derek Szajner told The Hockey News:
“He’s a very dynamic player. He sees the ice well and he’s explosive on his skates. He skates one speed: full-out. He’s a playmaker. A constant threat when he has the puck. He can stickhandle in a phone booth.”

Bennett takes big steps from last year

The 2008 season was one of the most frustrating years in Terrier hockey history. Much of the blam was on goalie Brett Bennett. Things did get a lot better for Brett this past season. After leaving BU Brett went to play to play in the USHL with the Phoenix Coyotes farm team the Indiana Ice. With the Ice Bennett helped the Indiana Ice to their first Clark Cup.

Brett Bennett went from this heart braking loss 3-1 loss
