Kessel Leaves UNH, DeAngelo Decommits

- Blake Kessel will forgo his senior year at New Hampshire and will hope to make the NHL next season with the New York Islanders.

-2014 recruit, Anthony DeAngelo has decommited from BU in favor of Canadian Major Junior's. He will reportedly play for the Sarina Sting of the OHL. Last season, DeAngelo become the youngest player ever to play in the USHL. He was just 14 when he suited up for the Cider Rapid Roughriders. He confermed his choice to play Major Juniors like a typical 15 year old by posting it to Facebook.

The Schedule Is out

Today Boston University released the 2011-2012 Mens Hockey Schedule.

Some key games don't come to far down the card. BU will take on UNH in the season/home opener on October 8th. A week later the Terriers welcome the University of Denver to Agganis for the first time in six years.

BU see's Boston College a little sooner then usual. On November 13th the Terriers and Eagles will re-new their Comm Ave rivalry.

Not too much farther into the season, BU will travel to the Big Apple to take on Cornell in the third coming of "Red Hot Hockey". BU is undefeated in the two previous meetings in Madison Square Garden, which will have a new look when the two schools play on Thanksgiving Weekend. In the first RHH, BU smoked the Big Red 6-2 and two season's ago, BU fought back in the last minute to tie Cornell.

December will be the toughest stretch of the season. The month starts off with a home and home with BC followed by a weekend in which BU will travel to New Hampshire and then on Sunday night jump up to Orono to take on Maine. Following the holiday break, the Terriers will be packing their bags for a trip to the brand new Charles Smith Jr. Rink, home to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

BU's only in-season tournament is the BeanPot. In the first round they will take on Harvard for the second meeting of the season. The Terriers will also play the Crimson on January 4th at the Bright Hockey Center.

The Scarlet and Red will close out the season with a home and home series against Lowell, followed by two games back to back at Gutterson Field House,  where Vermont calls home. BU will for the third season in a row, close out the year with a home and home with Northeastern.

Also, BU has two exhibition contest on the card. St. Francis Xavier will make the trip from Nova Scotia on October 1st and the USA Under 18 team will be at Aggains on January 1st.
