Saturday BU will look to put all the question marks from last weekend's exhibition loss to SFX behind them and kickoff what hopefully will be an exciting, successful season against New Hampshire.
Last year the Terriers took the season series verse the Wildcats, two games to one. UNH won the opening match 5-2 at the Wittimore Center, but BU bounced back the next night with a 4-2 victory. In February, BU somehow beat the then league leading Wildcats 2-1 in Durham, despite getting vastly out played.
Kieran Millan will get the start in net for the Terriers. Last weekend Millan allowed 5 goals on 17 shots.
Scouting the Cats
UNH lost their best defenseman to the NHL in Blake Kessle, who signed with the Flyers over the summer. Look out for Senior Stevie Moses, the assistant captain of the Wildcats. Last season Moses had 14 goals, 12 assists for a total of 26 points in 39 games played. In the one game that I saw him play last year, it looked like he has a decent shot and can really skate.
Apparently UNH's Matt Digrolamo is the best goalie in the nation, according to USCHO's pre-season rankings. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can object to this as, I don't not think he's the best goalie in Hockey East. If I had one league game to win and had to pick my starting netminder its either Merrimack's Joe Cannata or Providence's Alex Beaudry. Sorry Matt Digrolamo, your not that good.
