UMass Preview

Tonight. It's Here. The season opener and the start of the David Quinn era.

BU will play host to UMass starting at 7:30 at Agganis Arena. It is still unknown who will be in net for BU tonight, but I have a feeling it will be Sean Maguire, simply because he was the starter in the exhibition game.

BU has just five seniors and two juniors on the roster, easily one of the youngest team in recent memory and if not program history. UMass on the other hand has nine seniors and five juniors.

Scouting UMass
The Minutemen return their top three scorers from last year. Senior Branden Garcel had team high 14 goals, 20 assists and 34 points a year ago. Connor Sheary posted 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 34 games played. Mike Pereira finished one point behind Sheary with a 13-13-26 line.

In goal we will most likely see Steve Mastalerz, a junior from North Andover. Last year in 15 appearances he racked up a 4-8-1 record with a 2.96 goals against average and an .898 save percentage.

The Last Time They Met
February 1st, 2013... UMass 5, BU 1... Mullins Center... Ben Rosen scored the lone BU goal.
