The Gold Standard

Last night Team USA proved voters wrong. Yes, they proved voters wrong. They did this when they beat Canada in overtime of the World Jr. Championship game. How did they proved voters wrong you might ask? Well you all voted on a Poll of the Week for Canada to beat the USA in the WJC. In another poll you all said that That the US would flat out lose the WJC. Well your wrong

Team USA found them down one nothing in the first, after Canada scored one a power play. This was Canada's only lead of the game.

The USA tied the game on a Chris Kreider wrist shot, that found net above Team Canada's goalie. Team USA would take the lead when Jordan Schroeder found the net, short side.

The Teams traded goals for most of the game untill the third period. The US had a 5-3 lead with less then four minutes to go in the game. Team Canada, pulled a BU like comeback, in the final minutes to force overtime.

In overtime John Carlson, and the US had a two on one, going in to the Canada zone. Instead of passing it, Carlson ripped it five hole and the US won the gold
