There was a good six inches of white powder on the highway to Burlington, causing several cars to slide off the road. Thankfully my dad and I stayed on the road, but we missed the entire game.
I was able to follow the live blog on the Boston Hockey Blog, so I'll give you a brief recap of the goals.
After a scoreless first period, BU erupted for three goals in the second. Sean Escobedo put home his first of two at the 2:21 mark from Adam Clendening and Evan Rodrigues. It was Escobedo's first goal of the year.
At the midway point of the second, Cason Hohmann potted his second goal of the season. The lone assist went to defenseman Ryan Ruikka. Two minutes later, Escobedo picked up his second of the game on the power play from Sahir Gill and Alexx Privitera.
BU wasted no time getting on the board in the third. Wade Megan scored his team leading 16th goal of the year, just 1:13 into the third. 26 seconds later, Justin Courtnall found the back of the net. The assists went to Rodrigues and Ruikka.
Grant Rollheiser improved to 3-0-0 on the year, picking up the shutout and stopping 18 shots in the 5-0 win. BU is now 19-11-1 and have leapfrogged Lowell in the Hockey East standing, after the RiverHawks fell to Merrimack 5-2 tonight. The Terriers also passed Lowell in the PairWise and are now in 5th, Lowell is 6th and BC remains in 1st after they shutout Providence 3-0.
BU and Vermont will face off again tomorrow night and unless I die skiing tomorrow, I will be at the game.
