After coming back and tying Maine last night, BU will probably become the nation's new #1 ranked team. Both Miami and Minnesota Duluth, who were 1,2 respectively last week, lost. Miami fell to unranked Ferris State Friday night then tied them Saturday and Duluth split a series with #9 North Dakota, losing Friday night. Boston College, the fourth ranked team in the country, also lost at the hands of New Hampshire.

Here is what I think the top five will look like come 2:30 Monday afternoon:

  1. Boston University (6-0-2)
  2. Yale (4-0-0)
  3. Minnesota Duluth ( 7-1-2)
  4. Nebraska Omaha (7-1-0)
  5. Maine/Miami (4-1-3 /5-2-3)
In Other News
BU West (the Colorado Avalanche) had four former Terriers in the lineup last night. Brandon Yip, Colby Cohen, Kevin Shattenkirk, and David Van Der Gulik all saw ice time as the Aves rolled over the Dallas Stars, 5-1. Yip picked up his third goal of the season and also got into a fight. Colby Cohen, playing in his first NHL game, picked up two minor penalties but he and Shatt where held off the score sheet. Vandy notched an assist on the first Colorado goal.

Another former Terrier, John McCarthy, fond the back of the net. McCarthey, playing for the San Jose Sharks, scored his second career NHL goal
