Pio's Provide Tough Test

Tonight, BU welcomes 5th ranked Denver to Agganis. DU is undoubtably the best team BU has faced to date and they will provide a huge test for a struggling Terrier team. A win tonight could really spring-board the team. In addition, this is a an important game for both schools when it comes to PairWise. It's a bit early to start looking at that stuff, but DU will be in it all year. Two points against them would be nice.

Last night, Denver and BC played a wild back and forth game that saw the Eagles pull out the win, 4-3, with just 36 seconds left. So far on the year, Denver is 3-2-0, but last night was the first time they played a ranked opponent. On opening weekend, the Pioneers split with Air Force in a home and home  and the following weekend swept Michigan State at home.

Scouting The Pioneers
Currently, Danton Heinen, Trevor Moore and Dylan Gambrell all have five points on the year. Moore and Gambrell both have five assists, which leads the team and Heinen has 3 goals and 2 assists. Matt Marcinew also is tied with Heinen with 3 goals. Quentin Shore is another player to watch, but he been held in check so far this year.

In goal, Evan Cowley has seen the majority of the time. He holds a 2-1-0 record, .920 save percentage and a 2.35 goals against average. Tanner Jaillet has also seen time. He has one win in two appearances with a 2.47  GAA and a .886 sv%.

The Last Time They Met...
was December 29, 2012 in Denver. The Pioneers took BU to the woodshed that night, winning 6-0.
