Senior, Eric Gyba has signed with the Ottawa Senators today. Gryba was the assistant captain of BU this past season and scored four goal and racked up 6 assists. All that adds up to be the best offensive season he has ever had with BU. He was drafted by the Senators in the third round of the 2006 draft. Gryba will not play with the Sens right away, instead he will head to their AHL team, the Binghamton Senators. If he was to make the NHL Senators he would join UNH stand out Bobby Butler who left the Wildcats yesterday.
Gryba started out at BU and was a fan favorite from day one. He would go to the corner hard and there he would always hit some one. The refs did not like this and for the most part of his time at BU, he was a penalty waiting to happen. He would hit guys and because he was just taller they were shorter, he would get an elbowing call. Last year, playing with David Warsofsky seemed to really help and he has greatly improved his game over the course of his time at BU.
Bonino nets first goal
Last night BU's latest member to find the NHL, Nick Bonino, found the back of the net for the first time in his pro career. Bonino was on the top line for the Anaheim Ducks playing with 600 goal scorer, Teemu Selanne, who picked up the puck and handed Nick his puck.
